Krauthammer's Take

From Wednesday night’s Fox News All-Stars.

On President Obama’s victory lap before heading to Hawaii:

The news conference was not about information. It was about basking. He had an unbelievable December, and came back in a way that was quite stunning. ... It's true that in the eye of history no one is going to remember the START treaty, but the eye of history is not what governs now. It’s how he restored himself as a player in Washington. He's relevant, he’s the number one actor.

On Obama's professed ‘wrestling’ with the issue of gay marriage:

Everybody had said he’d alienated the base by accepting the Bush cuts for the upper-income folks. Three days later he won it back with "don't ask, don't tell." He's looking into the future and thinking that the pressure will be on him as the next step to endorse [gay] marriage. And I think what he's doing is positioning himself [for] if and when he changes -- as I think he will.  He set the premise today.

Unemployment Insurance: Temporary Fixes Make for Permanent Malfunction

I do believe with nearly 10 percent unemployment, the government should provide more aid to those who lose their jobs, but it shouldn't have been provided by a series of legislative band-aids.

**Written by Doug Powers It’s the holidays, which means the Hollywood limo libs just keep on delivering the gifts — unintentional laughs that is. From Newsbusters: On Tuesday’s Morning Edition, actor Ben Affleck was selling his new movie about corporate layoffs, Company Men, and anchorman Steve Inskeep carefully led the left-wing actor onto a soapbox [...]

Lock up the kids, here comes the EU

If you want a sign that Google is past its prime, you got it today: The EU is investigating it for antitrust.
Remember Microsoft: The EU took 11 years investigating it — during which time, the web was born — and by the time it finished in 2004 and brought its mighty hand down upon [...]

Conservatives Freak Out Over Mild Net Neutrality Laws: ?It?s Total Government Control Of The Internet?

Yesterday, the Federal Communications Commission passed “network neutrality” regulations, which aim to ensure equal access to all legal Internet content. Service providers will not be allowed to block rival services, nor will they be able to divide traffic to certain sites into fast and slow lanes, thus giving priority to preferred web content providers. The [...]
